PADI Equipment Speciality

Don’t miss a dive due to minor issues with your scuba diving equipment. Whether it's a missing o-ring, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, the PADI Equipment Specialist course teaches you to manage basic repairs and adjustments. You'll also learn more about how your gear works, making you more comfortable with it and better prepared to take care of your investment.
You must be a minimum of 12 years old and certified as a PADI (Junior) Scuba Diver or higher, to enrol in the Equipment Specialist course.
The Equipment Speciality is a classroom based course where you will learn all kinds of equipment styles and configurations. You will learn “field repairs” for those times when a leak is out to spoil your day, how regulators work and what the difference between a balanced regulator is as opposed to a non balanced regulator. Learn how to disassemble your second stage and learn how cylinder valves work. Did you ever wonder how cylinders are made? This is the course for you!

Your Instructor will introduce you to the many styles and types of equipment. You will then be given a set of tools and a regulator second stage to pull apart. You will be shown how and why each part works and how to reassemble the regulator. Along the way you will be shown how to repair typical problems associated with regulators from time to time.
