With theThe range of open-circuit programs provides training in either sidemount or twinset configurations, meaning you can develop your skills up to a maximum depth of 100 meters. During your program, your instructor will cover everything including supreme buoyancy, propulsion, equipment management, and effective decompression. Learn how to extend your dive times by joining the growing community of Mares Horizon semi-closed rebreather divers. With both no-decompression and decompression diving programs available on this light-weight simple unit, you will never look back to blowing bubbles again.
Explore the silent world with the SSI Closed-Circuit Rebreather (CCR) programs. With a continuum of training programs available from 30 to 100 meters on the rEvo, JJ, SF2, AP Inspiration, Prism 2, or Poseidon CCR, you can find the perfect pathway that suits your diving needs. You will learn and master new skills designed to enhance your safety and enjoyment using this new equipment design. Academically you can advance your knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, and theories specific to diving safely in an overhead environment. Explorers will love the SSI overhead program options of either diving in a wreck, cave, or mine. You will adapt your existing equipment or be introduced to new equipment concepts and the technically oriented dive configuration to make exploration of the overhead environment safe and rewarding. SSI has invested in the development of specific technical diving training materials with exciting, cutting-edge manuals that include review sessions, a specific technical diving logbook, and wetnotes.

Medical & Administrative Requirements
Each student or candidate must complete the required SSI Training Record Forms prior to participating in any SSI training program. The forms for minors must be reviewed and signed by a parent or guardian.

- Diver Medical Statement & Questionnaire or Physician’s Approval to Dive (where required)
- Training Assumption of Risk, Liability Release, & Liability Release, & Hold Harmless Agreement (where required)
- Program-specific Completion Record (done by the Instructor prior to certification)
Training Prerequisites
SSI Entry-Level Programs – Open Water Diver, Freediving Level 1, or Mermaid require students to complete a water fitness evaluation prior to open water training. The goal of this evaluation is to determine a comfort level baseline consisting of:
- Swim Assessment
- Survival Float
Technical Requirements
To start training, students must create a MySSI profile. This can either be done via the SSI website at www.divessi.com/register or by installing the MySSI App.
Simply download the app for either iOS or Android, set up the user profile, and access the world of diving in minutes! The MySSI App safely stores everything in one place, online or offline – training materials, logbook, and certification cards.
